About Us
Florida Academy of Excellence, Inc. (FAE) is a private school, school code 8623, based in Pasco County, Florida that serves as an umbrella school for homeschooled students in grades K-12. FAE does not participate in any of the state scholarship programs, although courses, programs, and activities are available to all students in any home education program. Some courses and services may be eligible for reimbursement or scholarship direct payments through one of our partner education-service providers.

High School/ Dual Enrollment
All high school and dual enrollment courses are delivered through our partner education-service providers. Credit is awarded by FAE and official transcripts and record-keeping are maintained by FAE.
Admissions
Students who are taking middle school courses and regular track high school courses are admitted on an “open enrollment” basis, with no specific admission requirements. Students seeking to register for the advanced track must have a 3.0 grade point average prior to admission in the advanced track.
Students seeking admission to the dual enrollment program will meet the admission requirements of the dual enrollment program, which shall be arranged through the specific DE program.

Registration
- Basic Umbrella School Program- Grades K-12
- Cost: $250 per school year
- Registration is effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026
- This is the option for students in grades K-12 who do not receive state scholarships, and it allows students to meet Florida attendance law requirements through private school registration.
- There are no curriculum requirements or specific course requirements for this option. Parents choose all courses and curriculum.
- Enrollment is effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.
- Parents are responsible for keeping all academic records and reporting only attendance to FAE.
- Premier Umbrella School Program – Grades 9-12
- $1850 per school year
- Registration is effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026
- Students who do not receive state scholarships may use this option for private school enrollment to meet Florida attendance requirements.
- Students who receive state scholarships may register for the services provided by this option but must ALSO be either enrolled in the PEP home education program OR with their local school district as a home school student. Some of these services might be eligible to be reimbursed by the Step Up for Students scholarship program, but FAE is not a direct pay-provider for the scholarships.
- Includes unlimited Choice Navigator services to provide the parent educator assistance with selecting courses, curriculum, programs, and activities to meet the student’s educational needs. FAE keeps official academic transcripts for the student, but the parent is ultimately responsible for choosing courses, curriculum, programs and activities to meet the student’s educational goals.
- Includes high school transcript services, diploma, & graduation ceremony. (Students are required to meet FAE’s graduation requirements for a diploma.)
- NCAA and NAIA portal management and other collegiate academic verification.
- Assistance with Florida Bright Futures applications, college admissions applications, and academic planning.
- Includes one standardized test in the late spring for scholarship students OR an annual evaluation for those registered with their school district.
- Includes Friday enrichment opportunities such as community service, leadership summits, life skills, and tutoring sessions.
- Additional Events Included: Discounts for educational trips including one trip out of state for 9th through 11th grade or Senior Trip for 12th grade (fundraising and additional expenses on the trips will apply); Annual Homecoming dance; Grad Bash @Universal Studios Orlando for seniors, and several other picnics and fun gatherings throughout the year.

Payment Options
Registration for Basic Umbrella– Enrollment fee full payment required upon enrollment
Registration for Premier Umbrella– Full payment by June 15th- 10% discount; Full payment between June 15th-July 15th 5% discount
Online Academy Courses – Full payment by June 30th- 10% discount. Otherwise full-payment or monthly payment plan must begin before enrollment in online courses.
–Payment Plan– Monthly payments are on the 1st of each month beginning August 1st and ending May 1st. (“catch-up payments” may be required if enrolling late in a semester.)
